L.F. “Bud” Loucks – 1991

L.F. (Bud) Loucks
In the meeting of the MTA on July 7, 1967, under New Business, Bud Loucks talked about the possibility of the MTA obtaining its own property. This was a key in starting our home grounds. Bud, living in nearby Charlotte, was a key man to call on when the board needed someone to check out numerous problems that would come up. Bud located the large tiles used to cross the small stream at scrap prices.

At this writing, he has 98,000 16-yard targets and will more than likely pass the 100,000 mark before the year is out; if not, surely early in the ’92 season. Bud now has 45 consecutive attendance awards at the GAH. He has seven Grand American trophies, 2 doubles, 1 handicap 26-yard 1974, and 2 Champion of Champions trophies 1957 & 1976, and 1 Central Zone winning team in 1977. In 1948 he won the handicap at Jackson, Michigan State Shoot with 100. In 1952 he was runner-up to Ned Lilly 198 x 200 – 150 bird shoot-off. In 1953 he was the 16-yard runner-up with 198 x 200. In 1955 he was 16-yard champion, handicap, and all-around champions at Birmingham Gun Club.
