The 2026 High School State Championships bring Michigan’s top high school clay target athletes together for three days of competitive shooting in the state’s premier scholastic event. Open to all current league-registered teams and athletes, this championship features team and individual competition across classifications, honoring performance, commitment, and excellence in high school trap shooting.
Held at the Michigan Trapshooting Association homegrounds, this event offers student-athletes their chance to compete for state titles, celebrate their season, and set the stage for future success.

Practice Schedule

Skeet
- Thursday June 18 from 3 PM to 6 PM in front of the club house
- Friday June 19 from 8 AM to TBD, one field only
Trap
- Friday June 19 from 2 PM to 6 PM on Fields 14-19. Pay for rounds at the shelter in the middle of fields 14-19.
- Saturday June 20 from 8 AM to TBD in front of the club house. Pay for rounds at the shoot off shack.
- Sunday June 21 from 8 AM to TBD in front of the club house. Pay for rounds at the shoot off shack.

Ammunition Restrictions: Lead Shot Only, Max Shot Size 7 1/2
Max Speed
1 1/8 oz load - 1290 FPS
1 oz load - 1325 FPS
7/8 oz or less - 1350 FPS
These velocities are maximum and no individual shotshell shall exceed these limits for the designated shot weight. In addition, no load containing more than 1 1/8 ounces or any shot larger than Number 7 1/2 can be used.
On-Site Reminders
- Golf cart/UTV registration and insurance is required. Forms are available when you get here. Must be over 18 to operate a golf cart or UTV on the MTA grounds.
- Tents must be 10' back from the edge of the sidewalk. No stakes or screw-in anchors allowed.
- No parking on the trapline. Vehicles must be in designated parking areas.
